Description
Potassium Sulfate (AKA Sulfate of Potash or SOP) is a multi-nutrient fertilizer rich in potassium and plant-available sulfate sulfur. Our 100% water soluble Potassium Sulfate can be used in soil or hydroponic gardens to increase yields and quality. The low chloride and low salt in this product reduces the risk of plant damage from high salt or chloride levels.
Application Instructions:
1. Soil Application:
– For pre-planting or general soil enrichment: Apply Potassium Sulfate at a rate of 1 to 2 pounds per 100 square feet (or 45 to 90 grams per square meter) of soil. Mix the fertilizer evenly into the top few inches of the soil.
2. Side Dressing:
– For established plants: Apply Potassium Sulfate at a rate of 1 tablespoon per plant or 2 to 4 ounces per 10 feet of row (or 15 to 30 grams per plant or 60 to 120 grams per 3 meters of row). Sprinkle the fertilizer along the side of the plants, avoiding direct contact with the stems or leaves. Lightly incorporate the granules into the soil, then water thoroughly.
3. Foliar Spray:
– As a supplement: Dilute Potassium Sulfate in water according to the manufacturer’s instructions. As a general guideline, you can start with 1 to 2 tablespoons of Potassium Sulfate per gallon of water (or 15 to 30 grams per 4 liters) and adjust the concentration as needed. Spray the foliage of the plants, ensuring good coverage but avoiding excessive runoff.
4. Hydroponics:
– For hydroponic systems: Use as an additive to your standard nutrient mix to increase levels of potassium and sulfur. Application rates will depend on the volume of the nutrient solution and the desired concentration of potassium and sulfur.
Note that these rates are general guidelines and may need to be adjusted based on factors such as plant type, growth stage, soil composition, and local conditions.
